Bakkt Announces the Launch Date of Bitcoin Futures Platform
Bakkt has announced the launch date, December 12th, of the their much anticipated platform that will allow for the physically settled settled one-day Bitcoin futures contracts and Bitcoin warehousing.
Bakkt is founded and owned by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and 11 other regulated exchanges and marketplaces. ICE also owns 6 clearing houses.
Binance Enters Singapore with Investment from Temasek Holdings
Singapore’s government-owned holding company, Temasek Holdings, has invested in Binance through its venture capital subsidiary, Vertex Ventures. This will enable Binance to build and launch an exchange in Singapore for cryptocurrency trading. The investment amount is unknown.
Coinbase is Approved to Offer Cryptocurrency Custody Services
Coinbase has obtained a license under New York State Banking Law to operate as an independent Qualified Custodian. The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has approved Coinbase’s application to create the Coinbase Custody Trust Company, as well as approving the Coinbase Trust to offer custody services for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum classic, Litecoin and Ripple.
As such, Coinbase Custody will offer “an institutional-grade service optimized for storing large amounts of cryptocurrency in a highly secure way”.
